This is all too true. People have been socialized for thousands of years to do certain things. The first, most obvious, are “social” which lead to “friendship,” “marriage,” “cohabitation,” “social status,” etc.
However, things like social status don’t last. And just because something has been socially conditioned for a certain period of time doesn’t mean it won’t change. When the rules change, everyone has to adapt. If you’re a farmer and make a living by growing certain crops, you’re going to have to change your lifestyle to grow them.
